multilingualism in EUROPE

DATA:

the possible determinants of the low scores in English language of the Spanish students.
Based on the main determinants of children's academic performance.
The factors are usually grouped into three broad categories:
(I)   ...................
(II)  ..................
(III) ..................

self-directed learning
An estimated 70 percent of adult learning is self-directed learning.
Self-directed learning has been described as
"a process in which individuals take the initiative, with or without the help of others,"
to diagnose their learning needs,
to formulate learning goals,
to identify resources for learning,
to select and implement learning strategies, and
to evaluate learning outcomes

The European Commission has joined forces with Member State governments, the European Parliament, the European regions and social partners in order to:
  • Give citizens the chance of learning two languages in addition to their mother tongue from an early age.
  • Create friendlier societies, where different communities and individuals engage in dialogue with one another.
  • Strengthen the role of languages in improving employability and competitiveness.
These objectives are the backbone of ‘multilingualism policy’.
