5 Statistics You Need To Know About Cops Killing Blacks

           PIECE 1__

5 Statistics You Need To Know About Cops Killing Blacks

Anti-police rhetoric has deadly consequences.

Latest shootings have caused an uproar among leftists because they fuel their narrative that racist white police officers are hunting down innocent black men. But the statistics – brought to light by the superb work of Heather Mac Donald – tell a different story.

1. Cops killed nearly twice as many whites as blacks in 2015. According to data compiled by The Washington Post, 50 percent of the victims of fatal police shootings were white, while 26 percent were black. The majority of these victims had a gun or "were armed or otherwise threatening the officer with potentially lethal force,"
5. Blacks are more likely to kill cops than be killed by cops. This is according to FBI data, which also found that 40 percent of cop killers are black. According to Mac Donald, the police officer is 18.5 times more likely to be killed by a black than a cop killing an unarmed black person.
Despite the facts, the anti-police rhetoric of Black Lives Matter and their leftist sympathizers have resulted in what Mac Donald calls the "Ferguson Effect," as murders have spiked by 17 percent among the 50 biggest cities in the U.S. as a result of cops being more reluctant to police neighborhoods out of fear of being labeled as racists. Additionally, there have been over twice as many cops victimized by fatal shootings in the first three months of 2016.
Anti-police rhetoric has deadly consequences.

California: Two officers killed trying to solve family dispute, shooter at large
Two Palm Springs police officers trying to resolve a family dispute were shot to death Saturday when a man they had been speaking calmly with suddenly pulled out a gun and opened fire on them, the city’s police chief told reporters. A third officer was wounded. The shooter was not immediately apprehended.
“It was a simple family disturbance and he elected to open fire on a few of the guardians of the city,” police Chief Bryan Reyes, his voice breaking, told reporters. The chief, near tears, identified the slain officers as Jose ‘Gil’ Gilbert Vega and Lesley Zerebny. He did not disclose their ranks or other information and did not reveal the wounded officer’s name.
Reyes said the officers were standing near the front door speaking with the man, “trying to negotiate with the suspect to just comply,” when he suddenly shot them. He said the shooter was not apprehended and may still be in the house. He said SWAT officers had the residence surrounded.
Cops Demised:
Ms Zerebny, 27, had recently returned to the force from maternity leave and was the mother of a four-month-old daughter.
Mr Vega, a father of eight, was a 35-year veteran of the force who was due to retire in December.

WAJDA- Popiól i diament (1958) - Movie You Must See Before You turn 50

Ashes and Diamonds
BIT 1#
Distinguished Polish filmmaker Andrzej Wajda died 90 this month. The director may be best known for Man of Marble and Man of Iron, films which challenged the communist system, exposing its corrupting flaws. However, Wajda has always had a knack for presenting the lives of people entangled in the chaos of history.  (7 films -)

Reading a gravestone ....
Krystyna: So often, are you as a blazing torch with flames/ of burning rags falling about you flaming, /you know not if flames bring freedom or death. /Consuming all that you must cherish /if ashes only will be left, and want Chaos and tempest...Maciek Chelmicki: ...Or will the ashes hold the glory of a starlike diamond... /The Morning Star of everlasting triumph.
The title comes from a 19th century poem by Cyprian Kamil Norwid and references the manner in which diamonds are formed from heat and pressure acting upon coal.

BIT 2#
Cinematographer Jerzy Wojcik's plastic work is outstanding. Wajda once said to me, when I asked him whether he would prefer the freedom of Western film-making to the artistic constraints of the Eastern bloc, that there were always ways of getting round political censorship but no way to avoid the censorship of money. Later in his career, when his disillusion with the Communist party was complete, he showed - with Man Of Iron, Man Of Marble and several other outstanding films - exactly what he meant.
(The Guardian )
REFERENCES:Ciudadano Kane (1941) - and Gregg Toland's -was a huge influence on Andrzej Wajda at the time.René Clair was a particular fan of the film....and One of Martin Scorsese's favorite movies.Wajda's His direction of Z. Cybulski, both having seen Dean on screen. Wajda wanted Cybulski to emulate Dean's air of diffidence and apparent "non-acting"

BIT 3#  From the poet: Cyprian Kamil Norwid (1821-1883)
Beauty and truth are the notions combined and inherent in the image of the diamond, the symbol which, can be viewed also as an inscape of their poetic greatness as well as the survivial in the world and poetry of that which is of true relevance to man.
From you, as from burning chips of resin
Fiery fragments circle far and near:
Ablaze, you don't know if you are to be free.
Or if all that is yours will disappear.
Will only ashes remain and confusion
Whirling into the void? - or will there shine
Amidst the ash a starlight diamond,

The dawning of eternal victory!

Gregorio Moran - Sabatinas Intempestivas 15/10/2016
Al arder no sabes si serás libre,
Si sólo quedarán cenizas y confusión
O se hallará en las profundidades
Un diamante que brille entre la ceniza.

Main variation when the nail sticked out (Poe's tale wouldn't have it happened, nothing so obvious in the literary piece, though)

  PIECE 1__
Moscow welcomes the (would-be) sovereign nations of California and Texas  __ in  LA Times
  •  This was a second conference organized in Moscow by Russia’s Anti-Globalist Movement, a small anti-American group.
  • During a conference dubbed the Dialogue of Nations, Louis Marinelli, head of the Yes California group  said they are determined to hold the Golden State’s “independence referendum” in 2019.
  • “For the first time in history, we, the people of California, who were conquered and annexed by the American military about 170 years ago, will have a chance to express our voice to either remain a state in the American union, or instead, to pursue a path toward a nationhood,” Marinelli said solemnly.
  • The crowd cheered and applauded again, louder, when Nate Smith, a self-proclaimed “foreign minister” of the Texas Nationalist Movement, promised that one day, the independent Lone Star state
  • “can formally exchange ambassadors with your free and independent countries.”

  PIECE 2__
Hollywood’s dangerous obsession with China
Outside a Beijing movie theater

American film studios are playing a leading role in the growing strategic and ideological competition between China and the U.S., and Washington is taking note. Sixteen members of Congress wrote a letter calling for scrutiny of Chinese investments in the U.S. film industry, and former Rep. Frank Wolf (R-Va.) wants a review of Hollywood’s pursuit of Chinese box office. “By controlling the financing and distribution of American movies [in China],” Wolf wrote in a recent Washington Post op-ed, “and [by] subjecting them to censorship..., Beijing could effectively dictate what is and isn’t made.”
In 2017, China’s box office receipts are expected to surpass America’s. Already, a movie cannot break box office records unless it plays in China...  The problem is compounded because China might object to anything — its censors don’t explain their decisions. The result is that Hollywood is allowing China to determine which movies get made.

Do you remember what you wanted to be when you grew up and have you achieved it? A study run over the past 50 years has tested what helps childhood aspirations become reality.
In this survey in the UK at the end of the 1960's ...could you guess who were more proned to the idea of  having children, boys or girls?
  1. I wanted to be a dentist from about 11 years old. I'm currently sitting in my surgery waiting for my next patient 16 years later. Rhys, Wales
  2. I always wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. I'm writing this from my PGCE course (The Postgraduate Certificate in Education). Guess dreams can come true. Becky, London, UK
  3. I had an ambition to be a fluteplaying, balletdancing nun. I learnt ballet and the flute, so two out of three wasn't bad. Jane Gordon Clark, Guildford, UK
  4. I wanted to be an air hostess. That dream died when I grew no taller than 5ft. Such is life I suppose. - Emma J, Aldershot UK

Q & A: Creationism or not??
"the earth" alone, mind you, not the cosmos — had its birthday on Saturday, October 22, in 4004 BC, at six in the afternoon."
     J. Ussher  (1650)

 Question

"I was reading many articles about estimates of the age of the Earth throughout the ages.
I was dumbfounded when I read that Newton (1689), arguably one of the greatest scientists ever to have ‘calculated’ the age of the earth, estimated that the Earth was created in 4000 BCE.
  • Johannes Kepler (1615) arrived at a similar result.....
  •  April 27, in 4997 BC

Which methods did these scientists use to arrive at such conclusions?
