Standing up on the wrong foot -Murphy was ambi-clumsy

It's not in an easy task, (Guardiola minds you),

TO SCORE A GOAL.

1.- Liverpool unlucky Arsenal not to beat: 2-1

Two-goal hero Robin van Persie admitted that after a thrilling match at Anfield.

Liverpool hit the post twice and missed a penalty in the first-half.
The home side had a penalty - and the resulting rebound - saved and hit the post twice in a dominant first half display but left with nothing after  a 2-1 victory for the Gunners.

REMEMBER, Murphy's law always comes into play

2.- Playing against the CPU on career mode and they break in my 18 yard box but their shot manages to hit the post twice and come back out to my keeper.

3.- From bad to worse: A major fail in soccer... possibly one of the worst ones that have occurred... The mans name is kept anonymous..... Judge FOR yourself:
Funniest miss in history.  Worst striker against worst goalkeeper!

4.- Unlucky days are universal, also in SERIE A.... in Italy
         AC Milan vs Lazio 0-0
Zlatan Ibrahimovic Hits the Post Twice!

5.- Queens Park Rangers 1 - 1 Everton
(Saturday 3rd March 2012 ) -Premiere League

N1) At minute 43 Rangers hit the post twice in quick succession through Adel Taarabt and Akos Buzsaky.

N2) With half time fast approaching Rangers went within a whisker of claiming the lead, Adil Taarabt hitting the post before Zamora pulled the ball back from the rebound for Buzsaky, the Hungarian slamming the ball against the upright from close range.

Man of the match performance! Sign for a mINIESTAdi -Andres for agesthinking

A performance for the ages:

Find (at least) 13 ways to not repeat yourself

about the key player at the Spanish Classico

A performance for the ages: Andres Iniesta’s masterclass in Barcelona’s 3-1 win at Real Madrid

Sunday, December 11th, 2011
To call Andres Iniesta a “big-game player” is doing a disservice to the Barcelona schemer who appears to have the temperament for any occasion, and the silky skills to go with it.
The list of huge landmark matches where Iniesta has dictated play in the middle of the park and had an indelible impact on the outcome are simply staggering.
Obviously, the 2010 World Cup final is the immediate choice but the Euro 2008 semi-final and the 2009 Champions League semi-final also stand out. Whilst Iniesta has also been imperious in Champions League finals and countless Clasicos.
Quite simply Andres Iniesta is a living legend and he has the medals to prove it. He also has a man of the match performance on Saturday night in the Bernabeu to prove that despite all the above, the diminutive playmaker can still turn it on.
And the worldwide love for Iniesta has been gushing in the hours since Barcelona’s 3-1 victory in the Bernabeu. The pale midfielder is dominating every poll for man of the match and here at 101gg we have been inundated with requests for the video below.

Andrés Iniesta: FC Barcelona's Key Player vs Real Madrid in el Clásico

Andres Iniesta is the most important man on the pitch when it comes to taking down Real Madrid. Iniesta’s creative runs and big-game poise will be critical against an imposing Madrid defense, and if there’s one man most likely to make the game-winning plays for Barcelona on Saturday, it’s Iniesta.
Iniesta takes up position on the attacking edge of midfield. While Xavi tracks back to help bring the ball up, Andrés stays focused on goal, no matter if he’s 35 yards out. Always aware of the opposing defense and the position of his own strikers, by the time Barça get him the ball, Iniesta has an ideal attacking scenario fully formed in his sizable skull.
With dribbling abilities second to none, and a fair amount of quicks remaining in his 27-year-old legs, Iniesta is a pure danger man on the ball. Inviting defenders to close him down too tightly, Iniesta can get past anybody that doesn’t give him enough respect. If space is given, he’ll eat it up quickly, getting as close to goal and attracting as many defenders as possible. When the moment is right, he’ll unleash a dagger through-ball, take a crack of his own, or win a corner kick.
'nuff said!!!

football in old england

At the time of the bloody  battles of Sluys (1340) and Crécy (1346),
where the archers played their role and 15.000 Frenchmen were killed (in each!), no prisoners and where the fish -or the worms- could have learnt French, and that determined that Calais was taken in 1447 given control of the Channel- until 1557 (the first English colony)
competitions were ordered by Edward III to be held throughout the country.
In a Close Roll, dated 1363, Edward orders the sheriff of Kent to
"cause to be proclaimed that everyone in the shire, on festival days when he has holiday, shall learn and exercise himself in the art of archery, and use for his games bows and arrows, or crossbolts or bolts, forbidding all and single, on our orders, to meddle or toy in any way with these games of throwing stones, wood, or iron, playing handball, football, 'stickball,' or hockey, or cock-fighting, or any other games of this kind, which are worthless, under pain of imprisonment."37

Interestingly, the only games (other than wrestling) played ...

In 1363 Edward III, was obliged to issue a royal order forbidding many rural sports
and enjoining the use of archery. His letter to the sheriff of Kent, dated
June 1, 1363, ordered the sheriff to cause it to be proclaimed that:
on holidays every able-bodied man should use bows and arrows, oellets or bolts and practice the art of shooting "forbidding all and singular on pain of imprisonment to attend or meddle with hurling of stones, loggats or quoits, handball, football, club ball..., cock-fighting or other vain games of no value. The art of archery is almost wholly disused, whereby the realm is like to be kept without archers." bolts and practice the art of shooting "forbidding all and singular on pain of imprisonment to attend or meddle with hurling of stones, loggats or quoits, handball, football, club ball..., cock-fighting or other vain games of no value. The art of archery is almost wholly disused, whereby the realm is like to be kept without archers."
In 1565, Edward, still dissatisfied v/ith the situation, issu
